Summer Showcase July 2024
Our Summer Showcase shared two stories, inspired by our young people's own ideas at Kings Road URC.
🌿Forest Warriors was a compelling and heartwarming play telling the story of a group of determined school children who band together to protect their cherished forest from being destroyed to build a new housing estate. Faced with the imminent threat of deforestation, these young eco-heroes organise a protest to safeguard the trees and the diverse wildlife that depend on the forest for survival.
🕵️♀️Murder on the Dancefloor was an exciting new interactive murder mystery that plunged the audience into a world of intrigue and suspense. As a talented cast of actors gather at a local ballet academy to rehearse a highly anticipated Sherlock Holmes play, they soon discover that their enigmatic director is missing.
Age is Revolting April 2024
Choir is for mad old people, right?
When a group of school kids rebel against their boring music lesson they hit the wrong note and magically transform into their 80 year-old selves… and now live in a care home.
Suddenly age, and their understanding of it, feels very relevant as they begin to confusedly navigate their way back to the present; no longer older, but maybe just a little wiser.

Fix It was an ensemble piece exploring the ideas of what makes us happy. An original devised piece, there was movement, music and script work.
The term's focus was on ensemble work and it was the first time all our classes performed as one at the Cunningham Theatre at Thorpe Hall School.

Bah Humbug Revisited was a collection of Christmas stories with a twist. This was our very first performance and it was a magical, festive night held in the Sanctuary at King's Road URC.
