We are delighted to be starting a brand new performance project; Future we Make. Our young people will be working with a team of industry professionals to create their very own play from scratch which will be performed in a professional theatre in Summer 2027. This project is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
What is Future we Make?
As a team of theatre makers, performers and storytellers, we wanted to bring a new, exciting opportunity to our young people this year to challenge and develop their skills. Future we Make gives them the space to share their ideas and voices. It gives the young people ownership over the work they create and perform.
Future We Make expands the opportunities we can provide our young people by giving them the space to create and be part of a true theatre-making process.
Our Platform Company will work with Essex professional playwright, Vickie Donoghue, through Research and Development sessions, exploring themes of identity, belonging, opportunity, community and social change. Their voices will shape an original play, written by Vickie, which they will perform in front of a live audience.
Michelle and Hannah will be co-directing the play, making it a true collaboration. We wanted to give the young people the experience of making a production from scratch.
It's a real exciting year and we can't wait to take you on this journey with us. Keep your eyes peeled for rehearsal updates and show details!
